The airport at Satna has been pursuing a license with the DGCA, or Directorate General of Civil Aviation. Aircraft will now depart from this very airport, Satna Airport shall be the very first airport to host air operations in the region of Vindhya of the state of Madhya Pradesh; it would therefore prove a giant leap in advancing the development of tourism, business, and trade in the region by enhancing regional connectivity. Satna Airport would soon take to the sky as the seventh operational airport in Madhya Pradesh. Modernization has encompassed development of the following structure at this airport: Development of 1200x 30 meters of Runway; a New terminal Building; Air traffic Control tower; Apron Taxiway’s Fire station as well.
The facility is well-equipped with up-to-date navigation and security equipment to allow smooth running and safe running of VFR conditions. Key installations include x-ray machines, ETD (Explosives Trace Detector), CCTV systems, DFMD (Door Frame Metal Detectors), HHMD (Hand-Held Metal Detectors), and advanced communication equipment. These are done in view of enhancing the safety of the passengers and smooth running of air services.
