In its stride towards building a world-class capital, the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority has okayed works worth Rs 24,276 crore on infrastructure for Amaravati. The Municipal Minister P Narayana said that the infrastructure works are meant for trunk roads, layouts, and iconic buildings of the greenfield capital. The money was sanctioned in the 43rd APCRDA meeting headed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is working towards developing the modern, state-of-art city Amaravati.
Key Infrastructure Projects Approved
This approval will see great investments in the construction of trunk roads, layouts, and key public buildings in Amaravati. The Minister spoke of the construction of four major roads extending 580 km, at an expense of Rs 9,699 crore. These infrastructure developments will ensure better connectivity across the city parts and facilitate the connectivity in the capital region.
In addition, trunk roads development worth Rs 7,794 crore is proposed to ensure easy transport and better integration in road network across Amaravati.
Iconic Buildings That Would Define the Skyline of Amaravati
Besides the road network, there will also be a series of iconic buildings in the city of Amaravati. First off, there is the yet-to-be-constructed Assembly building that spans 103 acres and runs over 11.2 lakh square feet. This structure, at a height of 250 meters, will be an iconic landmark in the city. During recesses, this building will be thrown open to the public, offering breathtaking vistas of the capital from atop.
High Court building: This is the next biggest project, which occupies 42 acres of land. The High Court will be a majestic eight-story edifice at a height of 55 meters. The budget allocated for High Court building amounts to Rs 1,048 crores. The place would cover an area of 20.32 lakh square feet and would eventually form the most crucial constituent part of the judicial setup of Amaravati.
Moreover, the GAD building of 47 floors and 17 lakh square feet would come up. The administrative block would further organize the government’s functionalities and services to its residents as well as businesses of this city.
The development plan does not stop at roads and public buildings. The approved amount totals Rs 4,688 crore for the construction of five more towers covering a vast area of 69 lakh square feet. These towers will be integral to the growth and development of the Amaravati skyline, enhancing its appeal as a modern metropolis.
The APCRDA approves such a huge budget, which is a part of its bigger plan to make Amaravati one of the top five cities in the world within the next few years. As said by Minister Narayana, all the construction works will be completed in the next three years and emphasizes that the development of the city is on track to compete with the global standards.
Speeding up the tender process for rapid development
As such, APCRDA will tender in a fast track way so that the completion of such huge projects are met timely. From 23rd December, all pending tenders will be wrapped up and completed till end while rest of them can be expected to get concluded in the month of January as such swift action has come out so that all work becomes hastened and hence all would reach to their deadline on the proposed target.
Amaravati Future Plan
Amaravati project is more than just an infrastructure venture. It is going to be a sustainable, modern, and dynamic city attracting the whole world.
