The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) recently launched a series of critical infrastructure projects to improvise connectivity, access, and general environment for the industrial areas of Surajpur. These are supposed to be designed including a new flyover on the three lanes in EPIP Kasna, along with complete overhauls of roadways and setting up of very essential drainage systems to remove long-standing issues of waterlogging at that place. All these are going to involve multi million rupees works for changing the local industrial environment of the area while elevating the quality of life for living people around.
A Three-Lane Flyover in EPIP Kasna
One of the important projects under construction is the three-lane flyover to be constructed at EPIP Kasna. Worth Rs 18 crore, it will connect UPSIDA industrial area with the major expressways like Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and Yamuna Expressway through seamless connectivity. It will connect a 30-meter-wide road at the side of the flatted factory of EPIP Kasna with the road on the adjacent side of the Savitri Bai Phule Girls’ School. This new flyover by the end of March 2025 shall remarkably reduce the traffic congestion, benefits not only industries in Sit-5 and EPIP but also neighboring residential locales. Thus, the transportations of industrialist, transporters and the entire public will be further eased with upgrading connectivity
Upgradations to Enhance Internal Roads
For the internal roads lying within the industrial area like Sit-5 and EPIP Kasna; UPSIDA looks forward to offering upgradations internal access roads. One under-going project costs Rs 7 crore. It’s a project that will result in the upgradation along with the maintenance of present roads in the region. It should be ready by December 2024. The modernized infrastructure will allow easy movement, save transport time, and create a safer atmosphere for people involved in the area. This is the prime step towards the modernization of the industrial zone and making it productive for industries and workers alike.
New Entrance Gates in Sikandrabad Industrial Area
The other major measure is the construction of two entry gates to the industrial area of Sikandrabad. The cost of this project is expected to be Rs 63 lakh. The whole project is scheduled to complete by December 2024. These two entry points will relax the entry process to the industrial zone. This will reduce bottlenecks at the entry points and will provide for easy entry and exit to vehicles in this zone. This is especially crucial for the logistics segment because it is one of the key sectors that handle merchandise entry and exit into the industrial zone. Infrastructural development will undoubtedly enhance the operational efficiency in the area.
Addressing Waterlogging through RCC Drainage Systems
Waterlogging was an issue in certain pockets of the industrial zones and even in Sikandrabad, where the drainage system was inadequate to withstand heavy rainfall. To address this, UPSIDA has undertaken a comprehensive plan for drainage improvement. It has submitted a proposal worth Rs 64.18 crore for the construction of RCC drains and is expected to give a sustainable solution to waterlogging problems in the industrial zones of Sikandrabad. A survey is also being conducted by IIT Delhi to design a proper water management strategy for the area.
Also, the state government has come up with a project in the proximity of Rs 3.26 crore construction of new drain network and two major bridges in the Site-5, Kasna region as being constituent of major drainage upgrading policy. It will pave for water flowing, eliminate flood situations at large extents, and permit smooth operating industries in Surajpur. All the above practices have reflected commitment by UPSIDA towards extending long-lasting solutions to those problems and challenges being seen by industrial societies.
Annual Maintenance and Sanitation Improvements
In addition to the development projects, UPSIDA is also focusing on routine maintenance and sanitation work at multiple industrial sites like Surajpur Site-4, Site-5, EPIP Kasna, and Sikandrabad. The maintenance program, which is worth more than Rs 7 crore, will include cleaning drains, culverts, and roads to keep the infrastructure in its best state.
There were operations relating to cleaning, repair and finalization of sewer line works in the residential sector Surajpur Site-C with an amount of Rs 3.42 crore. For a long time, Sanitation is required for this area with better improvement. Open tender notices have been issued under the head of installation work of sewage treatment plants on EPIP Kasna and Surajpur Site -B, modernizing sanitation system there also.
Improvement of Environmental Conditions and Reduction of Dust Pollution
UPSIDA is also trying to make the industrial areas greener by reducing dust pollution. The resurfacing of roads, watering of roads, and grass planting on the road verges would highly reduce the dust content in the air. It would not only make a healthier and cleaner environment but would also improve the air quality for workers and those nearby.
Conclusion
The comprehensive infrastructure development plans by UPSIDA in industrial areas of Surajpur are the construction of EPIP Kasna flyover, road up-gradation, drainage system improvement, and sanitation projects. This would significantly enhance the industrial capacity of the region, hence boosting local industries, transportation, and connectivity along with a safer and efficient business environment. With all this happening, Surajpur should turn out to be one of the better attractions in Uttar Pradesh toward industrial investment and growth.
